Exhibition of Floral Masterpieces in Zwettl Stift: A Triumph of Nature and Ecology

On September 7–8, 2024, an extraordinary exhibition took place in the picturesque Austrian town of Zwettl Stift, bringing together lovers of floral art from across Europe. At the Academy for Nature Design, the final diploma works of newly qualified floral masters were presented—unique masterpieces proudly displayed as the result of months of learning, creativity, and passion.

The exhibition marked the culmination of this year’s final exams and showcased a wide variety of floral compositions that impressed with both artistic craftsmanship and deep meaning. These included funeral floristry, artistic plantings, bridal bouquets, floral jewelry, and themed arrangements. Particularly striking were the projects focusing on “WOMEN,” displayed in the monastery’s mysterious cellar rooms and across the expansive exhibition areas of Stift Zwettl.

One of the most touching moments was the presentation of funeral works inside the diocesan church, giving the event a spiritual and emotional dimension. This symbolic fusion of art and the sacred sparked deep reflection among visitors.

It’s important to emphasize the international nature of the exhibition. Eighteen women from Austria, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Italy presented their works. Though each came from a different background and culture, they spoke a shared language—the language of love for nature, for flowers, and concern for future generations. Ecology and sustainability were central themes, reminding us that caring for tomorrow is just as vital as protecting the world today.

The Academy for Nature Design has rightfully earned a reputation as a training center for true floral masters. Rooted deeply in respect for nature, the academy trains florists who not only master the art of floral arrangement, but also understand the importance of ecological responsibility and sustainable development.

As someone who has visited many floristry schools and seen the work of numerous masters, I can confidently say that the Academy in Zwettl Stift is a truly unique place. This is where a journey with flowers should begin—because this school doesn’t just teach; it inspires the creation of floral art that touches both heart and mind.

Warm congratulations to all the new floral masters! I wish you continued success and an endless journey with flowers. Without a doubt, I will return next year to once again immerse myself in the atmosphere of a place where nature speaks through floral masterpieces—and I will leave fulfilled, knowing such a place exists in the world.

With great respect and warm regards to the founder of the Academy for Nature Design – Mr. Franz Josef Wein.
