In the picturesque municipality of Pischelsdorf am Kulm in Austria, an extraordinary floral exhibition titled “Grasses and More” took place on October 19–20, 2024. This event attracted numerous nature lovers, floral artists, and beauty enthusiasts from across Europe, offering not only unforgettable aesthetic impressions but also profound reflections on the relationship between humans and nature.
The main theme of the exhibition was nature in all its glory – wild, unpredictable, yet endlessly fascinating. The participating artists emphasized that nature can be cheeky, completely untamed, but always wonderful in its diversity. The floral compositions reflected these qualities, capturing the essence of nature in various forms – from bold, spontaneous creations to more subtle and contemplative arrangements.
Each work was a reflection of the artist’s personal vision, and as visitors moved from one installation to another, they could recognize a range of emotions and techniques. From calm, meditative pieces to dynamic and emotional compositions, the masters of floristry perfectly conveyed the complexity and changeability of nature. In every piece, one could sense passion, love for nature, and deep commitment, making the exhibition a deeply personal and moving experience.
A special aspect of the exhibition was the variety of techniques used by the artists. Each composition was unique, both in form and message. Only natural materials were used in the works, such as leaves, grasses, roots, soil, wires, stones, concrete, and wood. This conscious decision was intended not only to emphasize the connection to nature but also to raise awareness of the importance of protecting it. Each artist passionately shared the story of their work and the emotions they experienced during its creation. These personal narratives added depth to the exhibition and allowed visitors to understand not only the creative process but also the emotions behind each floral masterpiece.
For many visitors, including myself, the “Grasses and More” exhibition was a true feast for the senses. The impressive forms of the compositions delighted the eyes, while the soul was filled with reflection and joy. Visiting the exhibition left not only aesthetic impressions but also deep thoughts about the harmony between humans and nature. This event proved that floral art has the power to touch hearts, evoke emotions, and open our eyes to the beauty of the world around us and the importance of environmental protection.
With certainty and great joy, I will attend the next editions of this inspiring exhibition. “Grasses and More” is an event that not only provided aesthetic pleasure but also brought spiritual fulfillment – a true celebration for the eyes and the soul
