Saxon Florists’ Championship 2025 in Dresden – New Visions in the World of Flowers!
Soon it will begin – on March 28–29, Dresden will become the European capital of floristry! The Saxon Florists’ Championship will take place at the Easter Fair on Messering 6.
This year, the organizers have chosen a completely new theme: “New Visions.” Previous editions were inspired by spring or Easter, but this time brings a real surprise! “New Visions” is sure to amaze both participants and the audience.
I warmly invite all flower and art enthusiasts to this special event. It’s a wonderful opportunity to admire breathtaking floral creations and connect with master florists. The championship is more than just a competition – it’s a celebration of floral art, a harmony of passion, talent, and creativity.
Participants – Masters of Their Craft
This year, three highly talented florists will compete:
Anita Hänsel (Dresden) – For her, floristry is the fusion of urban character and natural beauty. She loves late spring and early summer and uses cornflowers, dracaenas, fritillarias, scillas, and silky poppies in her compositions. Her designs, in shades of blue, black, and soft pink, are inspired by contrasts – dynamic, delicate, and storytelling.
Anna Janas (Elstra) – For her, floristry is a passion and a form of love. She appreciates expressive shapes and colors and sees her work as a bridge in the European floristry scene. Her favorite flowers include clematis, Vanda orchids, and scabiosa. Her arrangements are light, graceful, and full of vibrant harmony – each one telling its own story.
Andre Paul Hussner (Dresden) – An experimenter and enthusiast. Floristry means constant evolution to him. His style is marked by freedom and change. He often works with fritillarias, anthuriums, hydrangeas, and alocasias. He loves challenges and fuses classical beauty with modern design in innovative ways.
